Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the center island of my kitchen. My fav spot to shoot

Time

The shot was captured about 5 pm in the afternoon as the sunlight was starting to fade.

Lighting

If you look close you notice that Rebecca has a halo shining down on her hair. This is from 3 fluorescent lights just above her head. The mixed natural light with the fluorescent light created a beautiful effect.

Equipment

Shot with a hand held Canon 70D with a EF f/1.8 85mm USM lens

Inspiration

Rebecca, She said she likes to start her shoots nude and then shoot any wardrobe I might want. I was a bit surprised, but knowing that Keira had recommend to her that we shoot; I trusted her judgement, didn't question it, and took for granted that something special was about to be created.

Editing

Temperature adjustment to reflect her natural skin tone; it was a subtle change, but necessary. Because even though the image straight out of the camera was fabulous. Her skin was less tan than what my camera setting had captured.

In my camera bag

My DSLR cameras have evolved over the years starting with the Rebel SXi to a 60D, 70D, 7D and 5D Mark III. Now I shoot with an 80D almost exclusively. My bag always has two lenses in it, an EF 85mm f/ 1.8 and the 18-135 mm f/ 3.5 - 5.6 kit lens and a dimmable led light for moments when AF needs a little assist. I also have a spare battery, memory cards and IR remote, cable release, mini notebook and a couple of pens.
