life brings colours and darkness, both together, its on us what we choose to be in. Darkness can always force you to sit down and cry for everything you loose, it can always guide you to an easier path that never takes you to your ultimate destination.

Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this picture at my home, in Alwar, a beautiful city in Rajasthan, India. The image came to my mind when I was sitting in my living room and just trying yo play a song by Shawn Mendes.

Time

It was a fine winter evening, the sun had already started to set and it was the moment when I ended up with my work and went in the kitchen to get some coffee. At that moment i heard my friend listning to this great singer "Shawn Mendes". I surely remember it was 23rd December around 6.00pm and everywhere the happy laughters and sounf of fun could be heard due to the christmas joy. That moment I knew that its best to make this evening woth remembering.

Lighting

Since being at home, no studio style setup, or any professional cameras with me, I felt a little disappointed but you know what they say, once you've thought of it, you gotta do it because no one else would. So I just grabbed my cell phone and started taking some shots, and just to manage the proper lighting I held another cell phone with the flash light on.

Equipment

I had to use my creative mind for a shot like this, I just used two cell phones, one for the flash and other for shooting, and yeah this took my breath away when i reviewed the final shot.

Inspiration

The Christmas songs and the voice of the person i talke about earlier, they both made me go use the evening in a different way and hence i came up with this shot.

Editing

yes, I did a little bit of post processing with the help of photoshop cc and lightroom specially atthe part of those light blemishes and to smoothen the lighting effect too.

In my camera bag

While travelling, which I sincerely love to do, I usually carry my Nikon D5600 with an 18-55mm and a 70-300mm standard lens along with a gimbal tripod as these are my only companions whenever I travel or take a small deroute before reaching my destination.

Feedback

I just have small piece of advice, whenever trying to capture any shot, before just taking your camera out and start giving trial shots, take moment to admire the beauty of the scene, then imagine your mind the exact shot you want, then start clicking.
