Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Vannini Daniela's Lo Studiolo in a very beautiful morning of photography.

Time

It was 10:44 AM on February 29, 2019 when I was inspired by the stained glass window that divided the study from the outside. The rainy day immediately inspired me with this shot. As soon as the rain stopped I took this picture with the model Miriam Bellucci going outside to photograph her

Lighting

The light outside was much greater. To illuminate the model I placed a lamp on the outside pointed at the girl. With the help of a friend present I made the window glass wet to create those drops you see. I used the maximum aperture of my 85mm Nikkor (f / 1.4) and focused on the hand. Focusing on the hand allowed the drops of water on the glass to be in focus (being on the same plane)

Equipment

Sactto freehand using the Nikon D5 and the Nikkor 85 with diaphragm f / 1.4. Speed 1/400 ISO 400

Inspiration

The idea came to me as explained in the previous paragraph where I also explained how I made the photo.

Editing

Very little post production of the photo. I developed the RAW file to accentuate the contrast and the definition of the contours of the drops. No other post-production. Free-hand shooting

In my camera bag

In my bag are always present my two Nikon D5 and D850 bodies with Nikkor objectives 14-24; 24-70; 70-200 (all f / 2.8) and the 85mm Nikkor f / 1.4

Feedback

No particular trick but get a little creativity and try to take non-trivial photos. Ideas come from observing the subjects and things that surround you with creativity.
