It is a chilly 2°C night out here in Kyneton near the Macedon ranges. After dinner at approx 8.30pm, I looked up the sky, it's super clear and star filled with no clouds in sight. I thought, how could I possibly capture the Milky Way this time again differently after the one at Cape Nelson Lighthouse? So I googled for a spot to shoot (hopefully away from the light pollution) and this location popped up. Voila, this is another golden opportunity to once again capture the Milky Way with a different structure and this time it's a bridge, none other than the Malmsbury Viaduct Bridge; located just 15 minutes away. Took a drive there, armed with a maglite and layered with warm clothing, walked 2 minutes towards the base of the bridge beside the river to set up. And the rest is history. Here's the outcome of the shot with the Milky Way in the background against the Malmsbury Viaduct Bridge.
Hopefully to plan another trip here in October when the Milky Way should be seen setting low in the South Western sky.
Settings: 14mm, ISO4000, f-2.8, 30 secs, remote shutter release.
