Behind The Lens

Location

Shot indoor in SM mall in Bacolod City where children were wearing their Halloween costumes....

Time

Around 5pm in the afternoon where there was some light coming from the big windows of the mall after the Halloween costumes contest was over while the children were relaxing and taking some snacks...

Lighting

Mixed natural afternoon light and the mall's own lighting enable me to nailed the shot handheld....

Equipment

Shot made with a Nikon D40 with a manual fixed lens 50mm l.4 , no tripod nor flash....I

Inspiration

I love to shoot children dressed up in costumes like this one during Halloween, United Nations day, and other local festivals indoors or outdoors...This particular subject had a very interesting expression- a haunting look, which prompted me to take a lot of shots...

Editing

Yes, i use photoshop CS5...This particular photo was converted to black and white using photoshop CS5....

In my camera bag

I bring my trusty Nikon D40 , manual F100, lumix camera, and lot of Nikon manual lenses....

Feedback

Having fun and enjoying taking photos of children especially in costumes is the first requirement...I shoot mostly in natural light and rarely shoot using flash...In low light situation look for something to brace on ...a wall, a pole anything that can serve as a tripod....
