The Kazan Cathedral is a small church on Red Square, Moscow. It was built in the 17th century to commemorate the repulsion of Polish invaders, and in honor of the Virgin of Kazan icon. The Joseph Stalin ordered it demolished it in 1936 in “honor” off state atheism. It was rebuilt in 1989, the first church to be rebuilt in post-communist Moscow.
