One of my daily visitors let me stand within 5 feet and shoot 20-30 photos for 120 seconds...and then whoosh...gone!

My backyard has the advantage of a "flowering maple" (Abutilon tree) and various attractions Hummingbirds love.Time
I like to shoot between 8-9amLighting
The sun filters directly at my back and gives me the opportunity to shoot in shade and direct sunlight.Equipment
Canon 7D mark II with my fav lens ...70-200MMInspiration
I spend a few minutes to over thirty or so...in my backyard each day appreciating the natural gifts I have been blessed with. aka- PMC! (prayer, meditation and camera!)Editing
I shoot raw and use Luminar 3 flex to enhance shots I love.In my camera bag
I don't carry a bag unless its a sports event. 100-400mm, 18-35mm along with my 99% use of 70-200mm. And in my back pocket...Apple 11 ProMax as it has "saved" me more than once! Especially pano's or wide angle (.5) shots.Feedback
The single most difficult shooting technique I find to be a common thread is ... Patience. People always ask about brand, lens, etc... And I ask them the most important question, "are you willing to get up at 4:30 am, drive to a cold, dark location, and wait for 10 minutes of light an hour later, to hopefully (no guarantee) get the shot you imagined"? Hummingbirds, lighting, lens, shutter speed, aperture are all a result of experience...learned from patience. Now... go shoot!
