As an Artist-In-Residence at Big Cypress National Preserve I was invited to join USGS biologists on a python hunt. The savannah was recently burned leaving a set of complementary colors as the backdrop for my turkey vulture shot. We only found a 10-foot python that day. The next day they found the 17-footer that was in the news. Turkey vultures are common throughout the region.
