As I was headed for the Cape I received notice of a 5 hour launch delay. I had a decision to make whether I'd return 90 minutes home or finish 40 minutes to the coast and somehow kill 4 hours. I'm glad I decided to go through with the shot. I got a great place right by the water on the Banana River. I set up 4 cameras, two crops, a full frame and a GoPro knockoff for video. As the clock counted down the last 5 seconds I was surprised that the motors seemed to start early and I felt behind in the process. The video was already running so I locked the cable releases on the Pentax and the Canon full-frame. I tried a manipulation on the Canon that didn't work out, and the T-3 was off task for the launch as its cable release broke. This shot is from the Pentax. I managed to also caputure the booster landings and the T-3 captured the moment of booster separation. A pretty good night's work! I drove home and went into post at about 5:30 AM.

I traveled hours and stationed myself on the Banana River for a chance to be featured, of course. Not love or money, but for a chance to be featured. I hear that really pays. Ahem.Time
Again, for a chance to be featured, I was up at 2 AM, not for a chance that one of you would pay me for my efforts and the lovely result, but for a chance to be featured. Ka-ching?Lighting
SpaceX was in charge of the lighting. They did it all so I could say I had a chance to be featured.Equipment
I didn't use a smartphone. I didn't use a point and shoot. I didn't just go out and snap this. There was the preparation, planning, and expensive equipment. Apparently, I did all this for a chance to be featured. (Is VB maybe beginning to get a clue as to why I don't join?)Inspiration
Everyone who makes fun of photography as being easy or "not really art"...AND...for a chance to be featured.Editing
No. But I had a chance to be featured! In my camera bag

Plan your life around it. I'm sure you, too, can enjoy going broke in exchange for a chance to be featured. I love this "for a chance to be featured" thing, where someone gets to use my hard work endlessly to bait me into putting money into their bank account when no one is putting any in mine. Viewbug is a wonderful site in some ways, but show me more potential to make something for all my hard work, instead of empty promises and "chances" at things.
