Location
Coon Rapids Dam County park in Coon Rapids, MNTime
I walk five miles every morning at 6 am. I love trying to catch sun rises and being in Minnesota there can be many seasonal changes that keeps taking photos very interesting. This was taken about 6:15 am.Lighting
The lighting was all natural. The park was foggy from the April temperature changes. The sun was coming up behind the trees causing a wonderful glow and amazing tree shadows.Equipment
My camera was a Canon EOS 70D with a Tamron lens (16 to 300), no other equipment was used.Inspiration
The tree shadows inspired my to take this picture. The shadows seem perfect with the trees being different sizes and shapes and the glow added unique coloring. It felt spiritual.Editing
I really don't post process pictures very much. The only thing I did was change it to black and white because I thought it looked more mystical. In my camera bag
I normally do not carry a camera bag on my daily walks due to the weight, Its all part of Cathy's simple plan. If i go on a photo trip I my Canon EOS 70D with a Tamron lens (16 to 300MM). My others lens would be Canon Macro lens EF 100MM and Tamron (150 to 600 mm)Feedback
Get up early every day and try to catch that perfect shot. I always have a camera with me. Sometimes I use a Canon G7X and it takes great shots. It fits in a pocket.
