I took this photo in my husband's garden in Dayton, Minnesota.Time
The hummingbirds show up in our garden later afternoon so it was around 4PM when I took this picture.Lighting
My favorite time to take pictures in the garden is on a overcast day because I like the colors in that lighting.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 70D with a Canon macro lens EF 100mmInspiration
I have been trying to get a good photo of a hummingbird for awhile but they are so fast. I loved the way the flower stems are curved and framed the hummingbird.Editing
I do very little post processing mostly due to a lack knowledge with the computer programs. I made it black and white because I felt it highlighted the shape of the flowers and made the bird stand out more.In my camera bag
Pretty standard equipment. I like to carry my Macro lens. I have a 300 Tamron lens for all other shots.Feedback
I go out into the garden everyday (except winter) and just look for something interesting.
