This is a Common Black Water Snake. I captured this image as it was going through my 'lawn' in my 'back yard.' I say those in quotes as I live on 16 acres of property and my 'yard' is pretty much all the area within an acre or so of my house. The pond which they use (they are water snakes) is about 180 feet from my back porch. This one was near the house. They are not dangerous unless you're a smaller snake, frog or mouse.
