The photo was taken in the back garden of a friend's house in Walnut Creek, CA. It had recently rained so I went into the garden to see what plants had perked up due to the rain.Time
This was taken in mid-morning, around 10AM. The back garden is not in full sun at that time, and it had recently rained so I knew there would still be some raindrops on flowers and plants.Lighting

I loved the contrast between the white flower and dark green leaves, and also the simply beauty of the lily.Editing
I cut the photo so that it is a square as I wanted the focus to be on the lily.In my camera bag

Visit gardens in all kinds of weather and at various times of the day. Also, look for patterns in nature as the symmetry can be quite intricate and is often beautiful.
