Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on a cloudy day so probably perfect for photography but I don't call myself a professional, in the Central Plateau of the North Island, New Zealand. It's called Taranaki Falls

Time

It was around midday or maybe slightly after. I had been biking with an Australian friend nearby and then we went to check out this wonderful waterfall

Lighting

It definitely helped being an overcast day, because it helped set the mood. I have been here on a sunny day and yes it is nice but the photography hasn't been as good. The dull day helps bring out the highlights in and around the falls

Equipment

This was shot on my Huawei P9 Plus, on the silky water setting and I had to hold it as steady as I could on my knee as I had no tripod.

Inspiration

I wasn't expecting to be taking decent photography shots hence the reason I didn't have any proper photography gear with me but with it being such an epic sight there was no inspiration needed.

As I have already said I don't rate myself as much of a photographer but as I quite like the outdoors I do get around and see some epic sights which in turn doesn't leave much space for gear, so usually just a phone
