Photo of the iconic half-dome mountain in Yosemite National Park, California. This scene has been photographed millions of times, but that's because it's such an iconic image, and I couldn't resist taking at least one more. I was impressed particularly by the majestic perspective as well as the vivid color contrasts of the green trees in the foreground against the snow-covered mountain and blue sky. My photographic choices often have social or political implications, and I like to think that photos like this one advocate support for conservation efforts to protect our national parks, especially now, under threats from the current U.S. president and his political administration to open up protected land preserves for economic exploitation.
