On the decking at the back of a villa in Pleneuf Val Andre, Brittany.Time
I think it was around mid morning. The mother of the young lady featured wanted some photos of her and her daughter. She was a friend and I needed practice in portraits and family shots. The whole shoot was taken in a hurry as they were actually packing to leave and move to another house in Southern France so had to get a move on and do at their appointed time instead of mine.Lighting
The lighting was actually perfect. No direct sunlight but a lovely bright summers day which was just what I needed.Equipment
Just my Nikon D3100 and the Nikon lens 18 - 55 and 55 - 200. No tripod and no flash. Just ran round a bit capturing what I could.Inspiration
Rose is a beautiful teenager and the camera just loved her. It didn't seem possible to take a bad photo of her. I wanted some natural, unposed close ups for her Mum and this was one of them.Editing
Yes, used a couple of different filters on my computer but to be honest, the original photo was just as good.lIn my camera bag
Just my Nikon and the two lenses. The tripod is however always in the car on hand if I think I might need it.Feedback
I just told my subjects to have fun together and although there was some posing, just try to forget I was there. The end result was great.
