Behind The Lens

Location

Taken at the Port de Dahouet in Pleneuf Val Andre, Brittany, France.

Time

On a very windy afternoon.

Lighting

All natural light in the middle of the afternoon with a blue sky and weak sun. Perfect!

Equipment

I took this just holding my Nikon and it was so windy on the coast that it was trembling and moving around in my hands. Luckily there was a low wall which I was able to lean on to help stop some of the shaking.

Inspiration

I had wanted to take some photos of the Port and the lighthouse for a while and obviously wanted a high tide with a lot of wind, hence the big waves. It was actually my birthday, so had the day off and luckily the wind was very strong so thought OK now might be a good time to go. I didn't manage to get the angles I wanted on the Port but did on the lighthouse.

Editing

None at all!

In my camera bag

My Nikon D3100, 18 to 55mm lense and 55 to 200mm. I rarely take my tripod out with me as find I rarely need it but have started to keep it in the car, just in case.

Feedback

Just be patient and wait for the big waves. They will arrive, eventually. Take lots of photos, as many as possible and you'll get lucky in the end.
