It had been a long day sight seeing, however we caught the bus to the Golden Pavilion in the late afternoon. IT was beautiful, I'm so glad we made the effort.

This photo was taken at Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto, Japan.Time
This was taken late afternoon, my family had been out sightseeing all day and we were exhausted as we had done so much walking. We had visited so many temples, this was the last, and we were 'templed out' (over it). However, the late afternoon was so beautiful and the temple and grounds were so tranquil and calm.Lighting
The late afternoon light on the temple was beautiful, all I had to do was frame the photo, and point and shoot.Equipment
To be honest, this was with an iphone. When travelling it can be exhausting hauling around a big camera, especially when travelling with young kid, so phone cameras tend to be my go to for landscapes when travelling. And I'll often switch to my camera for people shots.Inspiration
The sheer beauty of the Golden Pavilion reflected in the water in the late afternoon light. I had no idea it would be so beautiful travelling here and the time of day was just sheer luck given our sightseeing in Kyoto that day.Editing
I didn't do too much post processing, just some tweaks on a free app.In my camera bag
I usually have my iphone and a small mirrorless camera with a few lenses. I don't like hauling around a lot of camera gear.Feedback
Whist travelling, always be prepared for the unknown shot around the corner. Also, morning and late afternoon are often the best times to capture your shots.
