Behind The Lens

Location

I am always happy when one of my roses starts blooming. I have no garden, my house is builded on rocks. Where I can let my potplants is on my patio, near the house.

Time

Every day I make a little walk around the house to see what is blooming and what can be cutted out, Little birds flutter around me, I give them the leftovers of my canary every morning so they know me. They make a lot of noise and I tell them that I first want to see the plants. Then I will feed them. They even made a nest in a nest box on the wall of the house. A couple of 2 Blue tits. It smells wonderful so early in the morning. Then I discover this rose that has opened. I quickly go back into the house to get my camera.

Lighting

It was still sunrise, so I decided to set my camera to "easy".

Equipment

I used my Sony DSC-H300 Cybershot, easy to make fast pictures. Nothing else was needed.

Inspiration

When I leave the house early in the morning, there is always something to shoot. One does not has to go far away, around my house is enough to see,. Just when I look around me, 1 square meter is enough to see something to photograph, like this Rose.

Editing

When I want to take a photo quickly, I do not check in advance whether there are ugly spots on the leaves. I will see that later when I download the photo. I don't like ugly places and I take them out with a clone stamp. I blurred the background, because the Rose belonged in the foreground.

In my camera bag

My sony mentioned above, extra batteries, cleaning cloths, a very small tripod and, last but not least, my glasses!

Feedback

If you can use different modes for 1 lens, try that too. Take multiple photos of 1 object in different positions. Later you can see which stand was most suitable for this topic. You may be able to make a note of which positions you used in which order. That is easy for next time in the same situation of time, light and subject.
