Location
I woke up before sunrise in February and drove over an hour to the New Jersey Shore. I had to find a place to park and a public beach to shoot on. It was a new location and camera, so there was some trial and error.Time
The photo was taken right around sunrise.Lighting
It was dark. I was working on long exposure with waves.Equipment

I love the shots I've seen of piers. There wasn't a pier, but there was this pipe heading into the water surrounded by pilons.Editing
I edited in the Lightroom and photoshop to improve the clarity, exposure, to add interest to the sky and create a little HDR effect.In my camera bag
