Location
At the Bronx Zoo, Bronx, New York, USA.Time
Late morning (around 11:00) of December 3, 2018.Lighting
Natural light with hand heldEquipment
Sony Alpha a99 (full frame) camera with Minolta 80-200mm f2.8 AF APO TELE Zoom with no tripod (hand held), with no filter through large glass window.Inspiration
There were 2 mandrills on the trees. One was closer to me, but I selected another mandrill because of it's expressions and lighting. Closer one was too bright and too close. This mandrill was in perfect position facing toward me. I'd like to catch it's nice/melancholic expressions.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to make darker the surroundings and soften the background. In my camera bag
When I go to zoo, I take Sony Alpha a99 with Minolta 80-200 zoom lens and Sony Alpha a77II with 70-300 G zoom lens attached. I sometimes use a monopod.Feedback
Be always patient for animal picture. Also, light is very important. Avoid harsh light and concentrate to catch the well focused eye (eyes).
