Behind The Lens

Location

On a cold morning on my way to work in the northwest Dordogne ( Aquitaine). Pretty close to home .

Time

In thé first morning light just when a foggy sun was barely shining through the cold mist

Lighting

All provided by the grace of nature and a dim winter sun

Equipment

Then i still had the D3x, which was sadly stolen. The lens was a 70-180 micro Nikkor. Guess i used a warm jacket and boots, too.

Inspiration

Seeing the frost was a clear call to be a bit late at work and get some decent frost shots. But i couldn't dwell too long. I was lucky that 8n some places dew had formed before the temperature dropped quickly

Editing

Yes.. i enhanced the contrast and did a mono conversion in Exposure, my favourite processing program.

In my camera bag

A wide angle zoom, a macro lens ( 150 or 180mm) a lowlight prime such as the 85 mm and very often either a bird Tele or a good wide angle like the 18 f/3.5 . Depends on where i am heading.

Feedback

Stop to see magic and notice it instantly. Now that I'm heading towards retirement my eyes are even more aware while the body doesn't allow for steep climbs any more.
