Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken during a short autumn photoshooting near a Forest.

Time

The photo was made at about noon. Unfortunately in full sunlight.

Lighting

The only source of light was the natural light. But we had to shoot in the full sunlight, so the conditions were not easy and I always had to look where I place the model so I could handle the light to some extent.

Equipment

For this shot I used my Nikon D810 in combination with my Sigma Art 85mm Portrait Lens. No other gear (such as reflectors, flashes etc.) were used.

Inspiration

The idea was to take some photos in an autumn environment.

Editing

After selecting the photos I choosed the color look, then I corrected, if necessary, the light in the picture a little bit. Afterwards the pic has been cropped and last but not least, I made a classic beauty retouching. Finished

In my camera bag

For my portrait shootings I usually use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: A 45mm f1.8, a Sigma Art 85mm f1.4, a Sigma 150mm macro as well, the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom for the slightly wider angles and sometimes a 70-200mm f4.0 (if I need it for longer distances).

Feedback

Hopefully you have a relaxed model in a good mood. Then choose your shooting location and watch the light during the shoot. A camera with manual control (but don't forget: the best camera is the one you have with you) and then go for it. And yes, don't forget to do some the post-processing ;-)
