Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo out in front of my house (in the Texas hill country, where you can see the stars.)

Time

This photo was taken just before 8 pm on a cloudy November evening.

Lighting

I was trying to get good light trails so I had to wait for the right timing. That timing was when two cars passed each other. I had my settings at, f/3.5, exposure 30 sec.,ISO 800 and exposure compensation at -1.3.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D7200 with my Sigma 17-70mm lens attached to a tripod.

Inspiration

I really like light trails in photos. I had never given it a good try in my photography. That night I decided I wanted to practice.

Editing

I made some minor lighting and color adjustments in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

My go to equipment is my Nikon D7200 and my Sigma 17-70mm, because it is so good for photographing all sorts of subjects. I usually bring a tripod along as well. You never know when it will come in handy.

Feedback

Be patient. Take lots of shots. Adjustments will be needed. But most of all just have fun. When I'm having fun that is when I get my best shots.
