Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken along the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas.

Time

I captured this moment in the 4 o'clock hour.

Lighting

It was in a spot that was mostly shaded by that time of day. However, there was some light peaking through the trees. That was perfect because it was shining on the river water creating a bokeh effect that gives the photo so much more character. This photo was shot at 1/125th, f/3.5, 20mm and ISO 100.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D7200 with a Sigma 17-70mm lens.

Inspiration

I liked the look of the soft green growth on the rocks. With the water sparkling in the background from the little bit of light that managed to show through the trees.

Editing

I very slightly adjust the color and contrast. Otherwise there wasn't much processing needed.

In my camera bag

My go to equipment is my Nikon D7200 and Sigma 17-70mm. My secondary lens is the Tamron 100-400mm.

Feedback

Don't be afraid to get on the ground and get a little dirt on yourself.
