Location
The photo was taken in Warsaw in the Lazienky park on a rainy day. The loggia is part of a building that houses a bar. It was around 2pm on September 28th 2018 and I was protecting myself from the rain.Time
It was around 2pm on September 28th 2018 and I was sheltering myself from the rain and I was fascinated by the geometry of the shapes and the light that filtered through the arches. I have not used tripod and the shot is freehandLighting
To make the photo I used only natural light in the environment. The overcast sky and the rainy day had a very strong light filtered through it (puer being day) and the vault of the building remained very dark. I emphasized this situation by underlining the photo.Equipment
To make the photo I used my Nikon D5 equipped with the Nikon 24-70 lens. Diaphragm 2.8; Speed 1/500; iso 160. The focal length used was 24mm. I used the spot adjustment at an intermediate point between the shadows and the lights. I then underexposed by one stop the shot.Inspiration
I love the geometric shapes that you find in architecture and everything that creates visual harmony. This curve with these filtering lights really impressed me.Editing
After the development of the raw to adjust to my liking lights and shadows (further decreasing the exposure of a further stop) I used Color Efex Pro to highlight the details. Afterwards I increased the contrast slightly. Nothing more than at the level of development. In my camera bag
In my bag there are always my two Nikon camera bodies (D5 and D850) accompanied by the triad of Nikon 2.8 lenses composed of 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200. Also present the 85 f.1.8Feedback
I love the lines of architecture and a trivial trick to make shots like that is to imagine seeing the details of a subject. If an image strikes you, try ideally to zoom in on what has struck you and then check if you have the right optics to achieve what your eyes have seen. Sometimes you need a telephoto lens, sometimes a wide angle or even a panoramic shot.
