While walking in Patton Cemetery with my dog Bella, walking under and past that tree, I had a faint humming noise hit my ears. I looked around and could not find where it was coming from. Upon finishing Bella's walk, I grabbed my camera and away I went back to the area I heard the hum or buzz at. I then found the bees as you see them. I think they were cleaning the pine sap that was all around the slit while other worker bees were inside creating a bigger space for their nest and Queen. The nest was approx. 15 feet up the tree so not to many people knew about them.
