I ran into this Medal of Honor winners grave in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. The grave was marked with the GAR marker and the flag in its holder. I felt someone of his stature should have a little more recognition than that. I went to the store and bought 3 little flags and 1 large and put them around the marker. He lies at rest under a full grown pine, hopefully, his spirit can look down and smile.
