This juvenile great horned owl is just about old enough to completely be on his own. A "senior" in high school, in people terms! :) He sat one evening with a dark structure way behind him in Scottsdale, AZ. It made for a perfect backdrop for this image! The image has not been post-processed to add the background. It was there naturally and there is a video of it on my YouTube channel if you are interested in seeing its wonderful expressions!!
