Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken from the terrace of my room at the Hotel Don Diego located in Porto San Paolo (Costa Dorata) in Sardinia on a summer's day

Time

I had set the alarm for 5 in the morning and I waited about 30 minutes to find the light that I liked best and photograph the sunrise over the sea. It was still quite cold but it was definitely worth it!

Lighting

No help of artificial lights to make this photo. Absolutely natural light. Taken freehand.

Equipment

For this photo I used my Nikon D850 equipped with Nikon 24-70. ISO 1,600; 1/125; f / 6.3; 24mm. Freehand shooting.

Inspiration

The beauty of the place led me to set the alarm clock at dawn and take this photo that I am in love with.

Editing

No particular post-production. Developed the raw file by slightly increasing the contrasts and slightly lightening the darker areas. I then used photoshop to give greater definition of details with the "accentuate passage" function

In my camera bag

In my bag there are always the two Nikon camera bodies (D850 and D5) with the triad of Nikon lenses consisting of 14-24; 24-70; 70-200 (all f / 2.8). I always have the focal duplicator and the 95mm Nikon f / 1.4 with me.

Feedback

They say that the work of photographer is tiring. In some cases it really is but in this case the effort was only to have to wake up early. Fatigue amply rewarded by the result obtained and with which I am satisfied. Tips? Overcome the effort of making sacrifices to make the photo you have in mind. If fatigue wins, it means that you are not passionate about photography.
