Location
The shoot was taken at the Lake of Thun in Switzerland.Time
The photo was made at about 6 a.m.Lighting
The only source of light was the natural evening light. But hey, who wants to complain at such a light?Equipment
For shootings in the water, I usually have a slightly greater distance to the models than usual. That's why I often use then slightly longer telephoto lenses. But this picture I took with my Nikon D810 with the Sigma Art 85mm f1.4 because I was standing relatively close to the model in the water. No other equipment (such as reflectors, flashes, etc.) was needed.Inspiration
We planed to shoot some water photos in this style since a long time ago. So here was the motivation to capture some nice photos with this dreamy look.Editing
After selecting the photos I choosed the color look, then I corrected, if necessary, the light in the picture a little bit. Afterwards the pic has been cropped and last but not least, I made a classic beauty retouching. FinishedIn my camera bag
For my portrait shootings I always use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: A 50mm f1.8, a Sigma Art 85mm f1.4, a Sigma 150mm macro as well, the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom for the slightly wider angles and sometimes the Nikon 70-200mm f4.0 (if I need it for longer distances).Feedback
It needs an open, relaxed model at a nice place (not to much in public), great light and a camera with manual control and then nothing stands in the way of photos in this style. And yes, don't forget the post-processing ;-)
