This is Melkor (after J.R.R.Tolkien's Melkor). This is one of the big boys. I have been trying to find it since 2012. It is the 2nd largest multi stem Redwood, and the largest tree in Redwoods National Park, (excluding Jedediah Smith Redwoods and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Parks, which are otherwise normally included)
It is 22.4' diameter at breast height, 348.6' tall and has a volume of 39,100 cu. ft.!
It is staggering to stand next to a living thing this large...
