Location
I was walking along the steep coasts of Corsica when this magnificent scenery appeared to me. I stopped the bike and started to admire such beauty. The female presence on the wall inspired me this "meditative" photo in front of the magnificence of nature.Time
It was the late afternoon of a summer day at sunset on the Corsican seaLighting
Absolutely natural lighting. To tell the truth it was also too bright (at least the background). I could have used an ND filter but this would have also darkened the subject in the foreground which (on the contrary) I had to try to illuminate. I could have used a reflector but the photo would have been distorted.Equipment
I will insert this data tonight when I have the file on the home PC and I will be able to detect the exif. Free-hand shooting.Inspiration
The beauty of the landscape and the female figure have undoubtedly brought about the desire to take this picture.Editing
The elaboration of this photo was rather laborious as the contrast between the sun and the subject was very pronounced. I took three shots with a + and - 0.7 variation and then chose the right one to fix. I then worked a lot on the raw file to lighten the shadows on the human subject without losing color and defining the background landscape. Once I found the right balance I then switched to Photoshop where (with color curves) I further dampened the contrasts between light and shadow. In my camera bag
Usually in my bag my two Nikon camera bodies (D5 and D850) are always present with the Nikon triad composed by 14/24; 24/70 and 70/200 (all f / 2.8). these are joined by the legendary 85mm f / 1.4 and the Nikon 2x duplicator.Feedback
It looked like an impossible photo for a photographer like me who has little knowledge of photo editing programs but ... I love to venture. I also like to try to make things that technically seem impossible. The strong contrast between the subject and the background would have discouraged many photographers but not me. I wanted to try and in the end I was right about my stubbornness.
