Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Melbourne Zoo in Victoria Australia.

Time

It was around lunchtime. I had been sitting and watching this Orangutan for quite a while.

Lighting

Although it was a sunny day, a little shower of rain had just started even though the sun was still shining.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon EOS 40D with a Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 - Aperture f/6.3?ISO 400?Shutter 1/100?Focal Length 375

Inspiration

I had been watching him for quite a while. As a little shower of rain had just begun he grabbed the sheet and placed it around his shoulder like a raincoat. It was such a beautiful sight.

Editing

this shot only required a slight crop.

In my camera bag

On most days I try to travel light. But my full bag contains a Canon 90D and a Canon 40D with a few Tamron lenses including a 10-24mm, a 17-50mm and a 150-600m. I also have a Canon 50mm prime for portrait and product shots.
