Some images from this past weekend's Heidelberg Castle Illumination. I've shot some of these Illuminations before, but what makes this year special (from a photography standpoint) is due to this being a dry summer the Neckar River is unusually calm, and there is water grass growth not far out from the river's banks. A combination which makes for some nice reflections that you normally don't see. Having observed that earlier this summer when my kids visited I went back to see what reflections the Illumination might yield. Here's a few of those images. It's a pity that the Tor is covered in scaffolding.
