Every time people post photos like this, there's an airplane or a bird in the center. In contrast this tower pops up so unexpectedly, just there on the side. I don't know if it was your intention but personally I found it fun. And it's balanced compositionally by the lit section of the walls on the right. Cool take on the usual angle.
As a small side note, the windows on the left are a little clipped, it would be nice it it was symmetrical in this composition, I think. But I didn't notice until I looked closely.
I don't know if you were looking for a comment like this, I hope I don't come across as an ass. I enjoyed the photo

Thank You for your comment! I totally agree with your statement about the clipping on the windows and was well aware of it. Unfortunately I did not have a wider angle lens at hand to shoot the scene as I would have loved to have more image space to work with. Still glad you liked the picture!

Location
This photo was taken in the town of Siena in Italy. It was taken from inside the old town house building (Pubblico Palace) which stands at the Piazza del Campo (the central square in town).Time
The time was around 5 p.m. on the 30th of AprilLighting
I didn't use any additional lighting only the available natural light.Equipment
I used my Sony NEX 5n camera with the standard 18-55mm kit lens.Inspiration
When we entered the small courtyard of the building I chanced to look up in the sky and was immediately fascinated by the view of the clear sky in combination with the protruding tower. I noticed that most people didn't even properly notice the scene, much less take a photo. Probably because this was just a passage to the other part of the building.Editing
First off I had to straighten the lines on the building, because of lens distortion, which is much more noticeable in architectural photographs. I also might not have held the camera 100% straight which required some additional correction. Because of that I unfortunately lost some of the image on the edges, since I had to crop it afterward. In the end I did some colour processing and that was it.In my camera bag
Usually just my Sony NEX 5n camera, the 18-55mm Sony kit lens and an old Zeiss 50mm 1,4 manual lens. I also carry a spare battery and a remote trigger.Feedback
Firs of all I would advise anyone trying to take interesting photos, to alway be aware of your surroundings and look around you. Sometimes you might find interesting views in places you wouldn't expect or from unusual viewing points. Also in a situation like this it would be ideal if you had a wide angle lens available and possibly a camera stand with a remote trigger.
