When I was a kid, one of my favorite books was "The Wizard of the Emerald City" by Russian writer A.Volkov, which was a re-narration of L. Frank Baum's " The Wonderful Wizard of Oz". I spent a lot of time travelling through the country of Oz with Ellie, the Russian alter-ego of Dorothy, and her friends.
The story, that was most beloved and fascinating for me, was the story of the Tin Man, because he reminded me a lot of old robots.
So through years I tried to recreate this scene, as I saw it in my childhood dreams while reading the book, the old needless robot broken down in the forest.
I used the robot from the anime "Space Runaway Ideon", which I hand-painted to recreate the Tin Man. I also found proper stones and moss in the forest, which I brought home and prepared them for photoshoting.
The photo was taken using a retro manual lens Industar 61L-Z from 1993.
