Location
The photo was taken at the Mugello Circuit during the June 2018 MotoGP. Exactly it was taken at the first corner on the right after the arrival straight lineTime
Exactly it was taken on the 2nd of June 2018 at around 1pmLighting
No precautions about the light. Photos with natural light with the aid of a mono-foot.Equipment
For this session I used my NikonD5 equipped with the Nikon 70-200 at focal 175. Iso 100; diaphragm f / 22; shutter speed 1/30; spot detection; manual fire; deactivated the stabilizer and I used a monopod to eliminate the vertical oscillations of the camera.Inspiration
In terms of adjustments, I was equipped to panning the motorbikes that sped past me. It is not easy to make these photos but the result has been satisfactoryEditing
As a post production level I have simplely balanced lights and shadows in the raw camera. Then passed to Photoshoop I increased the contrasts and applied a filter with Analog Efex Pro to further emphasize the contrast of colors. Finally I increased the definition of details with "accentuate passage" of Photoshop. In my camera bag
In my bag there are always two NikonD6 and Z7II camera bodies with the three main lenses that are 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200. I often take with me the 85 f1,4.Feedback
Panning up close is never easy. The most important "secret" to me is keeping in mind the variation in the speed of the subject in the moment that passes you perpendicular to the camera. In the pannig you start to frame much earlier and follow the movement of the bike. We must keep in mind that when the bike (in this case) passes you in front of 90 degrees, the speed of movement of the SLR must increase a lot compared to the initial one. This in my opinion, the most important thing. The rest is known: slow times and steady hand at the level of vertical oscillations (better to use a monopod). The closed diaphragm helps in case of small imperfections of focusing. Completely eliminate the stabilizer and manually focus at the point where we know the motion will pass.
