This image demonstrates the challenge and the trade-offs of trying to get the right exposure for this building. The trade-offs are obvious: bright sky versus shadowed entrance. Expose for the sky and the entrance becomes too dark. Expose for the entrance and the sky becomes too bright washing out the detail in the building. So I compromised, because more than anything I did not want to lose the reflections in the ceiling of the building. Adding to the challenge was the 12mm lens I was using, given the massive amount of light it captures.
