Behind The Lens

Location

I was invited to shoot the gig in Battersea, at a new venue.

Time

It was a weekday gig.

Lighting

There was only stage lighting, so fairly low light.

Equipment

It was shot on a Canon 5D mk IV, with a EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS mk III, hand held 1/160 at ISO:3200.

Inspiration

Although I photographed the band members, I found the music stand with an iPad on it instead sheet music.

Editing

No. Not for this shot. The lighting was fairly neutral.

In my camera bag

For gigs I always take a Canon 5D and a 1Dx as well as a 24-70 and a 70-200 f/2.8. All are great in low light.

Feedback

Be prepared to use higher ISO setting 1600-12800 is normal. Shoot RAW as the white balance and the colour cast are easier to correct in post.
