Location
At home on a Saturday. It was taken in a part of my meadow where the cows will soon go. Zorrito and his brother Renardeau play there a lot.Time
very shortly before sunset. At this time of the year we have monsoon season so if you are lucky you get a bit of warm light. It helps with Zorrito's colour of fur.Lighting
all natural as God gives it to us. I went around him and talked to him so that I could get a nice light in his amber eyes.Equipment
my 180 2.8 which is very good for cats and kitten in action. And the D800EInspiration
I thought it has been a month since I last took some quality time with the cats AND the camera in the garden, it was a great delight. I talk to them, interact, call them so that they are most entertaining.Editing
not much, I corrected the white balance which had been overcorrected by my zealous Nikon and gave it a bit of clarity. In my camera bag
A 12mm venus wide angle or the very small 18 3.5 , a 24-70 Nikkor or a 55mm and a 28 from the 70s if it is rather dark, my 180 2.8 macro and an old 500mm MF for birds and such like. Need to get my 200-400 repaired.Feedback
Have fun with you cats and do something with them. Walk with them around the garden and meadows , in France I used to do this on a public path and the neighbour's land, here I have 2 hectares of grassland and garden so they have plenty of space to chase around. Take pics in an open space, don't try in the forest. It can be done but is a lot more tricky. Make sure nobody disturbs you or they are off :) I recommend a typical short tele, had a 80-200 2,8 before it was stolen, that was the easiest. But an 85 1.4 or a 180 2.8 is also very good.
