Honeybees are not aggressive by nature, and will not sting unless protecting their hive from an intruder or are unduly provoked. Honeybees represent a highly organized society, with various bees having very specific roles during their lifetime. The queen bee can live for several years. Worker bees live for 6 weeks during the busy summer, and for 4-9 months during the winter months. Honey bees are in danger for a lot of reasons, among them a mite that preys on them and, less, a fewer numbers of beekeepers. Without bees to pollinate crops and other plants, these plants will not thrive. Wild honey bees are not the main source of honey or pollination. Because of this, many of our food sources and those of animals are in serious danger. (Info from Wikipedia)
