Thank you so much!!! I know my father-in-law did just that in this rocker for many years.

Location
I photographed this in a room at my home.Time
I shot this on a Saturday later in the morning.Lighting
The lighting I chose was available window light and one large reflector.Equipment
A Nikon D700 with an older Nikon Nikkor ED 50mm lens was used for this shoot. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod. A large reflector was used as to fill and light the side of the rockerInspiration
The Mission rocker was my father-in-laws. It sat in his auto body and wheel alignment garage beside his phone. He would sit in this rocker daily as he took phone calls and wrote up invoices. My wife and I was fortunate enough to purchase it as the estate auction. I thought it would be a great prop for a still life.Editing
This image require a lot of post-process which I expected even when I shot the image. The window light was harsh, I thought about shooting this in HDR but the outdoor subject matter was to busy. I decided to let the window light blow out and I would deal with it in post-processing. My first step in post-processing is usually Lightroom where I use the basic adjustments such as exposure, contrast, highlights and shadows. Next I opened the image in Photoshop where I made adjustments using unsharp mask, dodging, burning, selective color, cloning and cropping. Finally I used the Nik Collection plugin to apply the texture and blur. This texture was the perfect choice to tone down the blown out exposure outside the window and it gave the image an aged distressed look.In my camera bag
I shoot with a Nikon D700 or a Sony A7R mirrorless. I have a large selection of Nikon ED, AF and AF-S lenses as well as adapters to use older Canon FD mount manual focus lenses. When using my Sony I only use vintage C mount Kinoptik lenses which were designed for 16mm cine cameras. I use these lenses for the amazing creamy bokeh they produce.Feedback
Think it through before setting up, take your time to look at the lighting options and the anticipated challenges that you may face. Do not let the challenges defeat you, their are so many post-processing options available to help you through most of the challenges that you may face. The Google Nik Collection software is a free download that offers many tools and options including textures and HDR tonemapping for multiple or single images. I also use Topaz Studio with the Topaz Collection and Gopro bundle to expand my creativity. My rule for my setup is when possible I do not move or tear down the setup until I have finished post-processing. Lastly, enjoy your time shooting, explore the endless amount of amazing images on viewbug, become inspired and add your brand or flavor to your creation.
