We spent a good portion of spring break this year at my brother- and sister-in-law's place in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Not being overly familiar with the area, I resorted to looking at Google maps for places to shoot. When those locations didn't pan out, I turned to my wife, who knew a place I should check out.

On our last day there, I headed to a park called Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park, to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, which crosses the Missouri River near downtown Omaha. The park is on the Iowa side of the river, and the bridge spans to the Omaha side of the river, right next to the National Park Services building.

I wandered the shore on both sides of the bridge for about an hour or so, looking for a nice sunset spot. I ended back on the Iowa side, looking toward the buildings downtown, for the best view.

For this shot, I stood on a small part of land where there used to be river; the water has receded a bit and this spot was a little muddy but provided a great view of the bridge and the river.
