It is not very common in Bangladesh that women pull Richshwa or van (to transport goods) for leaving. That kind of job requires lot of physical work and strength and consider as men’s job. But sometimes people make difference when it comes to surviving. That woman collects drinking water and supply to the small shops and road side restaurant. Her traditional outfit did not allow her ride but she did not stop. She was pushing the van though it was much tougher then riding it. I did not find her tired but determined doing her job. That photo taken at old town of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Behind The Lens

Location

That photo taken at old town of Dhaka, Bangladesh, which is my home country. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. It is known as Rickshaw Capital of the World.

Time

I was walking to kite festival of old town along with my other photographer friends. I found that lady was pulling that rickshaw van delivering water to the small street side restaurant. I took that photo on 15th January 2014 at around 1400 hrs

Lighting

I did not use my flash, sun was on top of the head. I wish I get shadow of her on the street

Equipment

This was shot on Canon dD with a 24-70mm f/2.8L

Inspiration

It is not very common in Bangladesh that women pull Richshwa or van (to transport goods) for leaving. That kind of job requires lot of physical work and strength and consider as men’s job. But sometimes people make difference when it comes to surviving. That woman collects drinking water and supply to the small shops and road side restaurant. Her traditional outfit did not allow her ride but she did not stop. She was pushing the van though it was much tougher then riding it. I did not find her tired but determined doing her job.

Editing

that photo was taken in color, I converted in to black and white using Adobe Photoshop.

In my camera bag

I normally carry Canon 6D with 24-70mm 2.8L, 50mm and 580EXII flash
