The first goose eggshell of 2018. it is larger than the typical goose egg, being 4.5 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide, and 8.5 inches in diameter. the legs of the lattice are 1-8 inch wide. i like carving these lattice patterns because they are difficult and intriguing when completed. Many people struggle with the idea that an eggshell can stay intact with so much material removed.

Nice work! As to the photographing advice... Try different lighting angles, which shouldn't be complicated with one or more desktop lamps. Include the shadows of the artwork on a suitable background, too... See what you can do with colored light... Also try candles! It's desktop phtography in essencewhere you have all the lighting control! If you want an absolutely black background, put the set on the windowsill at night so all the light surplus will be "eaten" by the darknes outside. Experiment with your lightsources reflected off the aluminum foil... There's no end to it, but avoid direct front light, it kills the 3rd dimension... Good Light! :)
