Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from a little hidden away stairway on the island of Santorini Greece in the city of Oia (pronounced E-ya)

Time

This photo was taken around 3 in the afternoon after enjoying a plate of olives and a nice glass of Santorini Vincente wine at one of the local cafe’s

Lighting

This was just all natural lighting from this beautiful island

Equipment

This was actually shot with my cell phone camera, no special settings.

Inspiration

This is a classic shot on Santorini and many photos and postcards are made of this image. I was happy to find the exact spot and produce my own

Editing

No post processing

In my camera bag

I still enjoy shooting my film cameras, I have a Bronica 2 1/4” as well as a Canon 35mm, many lenses, flash, I also have a studio set up with 4 flash heads, umbrella, soft box. A complete black and white darkroom.

Feedback

Don’t just center up a shot and let it rip. Work in the rule of thirds was some of the best advise ever given to me. Something off center will draw the eye in more
