Whale watching in Husavik
Husavik is one amazing town filled with colorful boats and buildings. My friend and I randomly decided to book a whale watching tour while in Iceland and would could not have had any better luck. The clouds parted as we got to Husavik in the morning and we knew it was going to be a good day. Husavik is one of the best places in the worlds to whale watch our hope to see whales were up there. Upon arrival for our tour I had no idea what to expect. This was my first time on the ocean and first time going whale watching. I fingered no matter what it was going to be a great time on the ocean with my friend. Little did we know they had these amazingly beautiful and eco friendly oak ships with electric motors and sails to keep the sound down thus not disturbing the whale too much. A little ways out the calm water started to become waves, it was like a badass roller coaster that I didn’t ever want to get off of. One whale, two whales, three whales it just couldn’t get any better. My mind was blown as the one humpback whale was right beside our ship and so close I couldn’t photograph the entire whale and we even waited one whale breech, I was in such awe. Nothing prepared me for something so amazing and blissful as whale watching. On the high seas, well not really, the crew handed us some hot chocolate and a cinnamon bun, I was like, no way this keeps getting better! The bun was easy to eat but the waves and the hot chocolate was a little tricky, thankfully I practiced this a lot while horseback riding, you don’t want to spill your drink! Lol ???? As we approached the docks my friend Steve yells “WHALE” ???????? the ship turned as I got this image as we got our final view of these epic whales before heading to shore for lunch. What a memory! ????????
