I have found that photos of water reflections tend to work better early or late in the day, when the sun is low in the sky. Overcast conditions tend to result in a better “mirror” image, which was a case in this photo. The tree is a rather large old cottonwood (álamos) with many interesting limbs dynamically thrusting in all directions. The water is so mirror like that one is challenged to discern just how the tree is positioned up on the creek bank. The only clue comes from some smaller trees that are completely upright, thus giving one a clue as to how the tree is partly horizontal to the creek bank.
