This photo was taken on platform 9 of London Bridge Station. I was on my way to the office and noticed the great morning light, so I decided t jump off the train and grab a few shots.Time
Taken around mid-morning. The low winter sun casting these amazing shadows across the brand new platforms at London Bridge Station.Lighting
This photo is all about the lighting. When the sun is low in the sky on a bright day, it's great fun to shoot into it. Backlighting your subject creating these strong silhouettes.Equipment
I'm currently using the Fujifilm X-T2. On this particular morning, I was using the 35mm 1.4 prime.Inspiration
Street photography is my main passion and the great streets photographers always have very strong black and white work. Often there is a heavy usage of silhouettes and abstraction in great street photography. It was a no-brainer to grab this opportunity.Editing
Converted the image to black and white, whilst also increasing the contrast and blacks to strengthen the silhouettes. In my camera bag
I don't leave the house without my camera bag, which contains my Fujifilm X-T2, 16-55mm XF, 35mm 1.4, along with the usual batteries, SD cards, etc.Feedback
Shoot into the light. Backlit subjects are the way to achieve silhouettes in street photography. Also, I'd close the aperture a little. This was taken at f8.0 to guarantee a super sharp image through the frame and the amount of light allows for a closed aperture.
